Behavioural Boarding & Train Programs

Our Board and Train program is an immersive training experience where your dog lives with us for a minimum of 4 weeks. During this time, they are fully integrated into a structured training environment built around clarity, consistency, and controlled socialisation.

This isn’t a drop-in training service — it’s a lifestyle reset for your dog, where every day is an opportunity to build better habits, clearer communication, and reliable behaviour under real-world conditions.

Program Options

4 Week Program

Designed for dogs with mild to moderate behavioural issues such as:

• Leash pulling
• Leash reactivity (lunging, barking, over-arousal on walks)
• Jumping on people
• Nuisance barking
• Hyperactivity
• Door rushing

This program builds solid foundational obedience and structure, including:

• Reliable off-leash obedience: heel, recall, place, down/stay
• Crate training
• Calm threshold manners (doors, gates, vehicle entry/exit)
• Structured engagement around distraction and impulse control

5–8 Week Programs

These extended programs include everything from the 4-week foundation, but are designed for dogs presenting more complex behavioural challenges.

In these programs, we work through and address issues including (but not limited to):

• Dog-to-dog aggression
• Human-directed aggression
• Food and resource guarding
• Separation anxiety
• Severe fear-based behaviours
• On-leash reactivity
• Predatory aggression / high prey drive behaviours

Training is tailored daily based on your dog’s progress, stability, and emotional state, ensuring we’re not just suppressing behaviour, but building real behavioural change.

What’s Included

Every Board and Train program includes significant additional value:

• A 2–3 hour structured handover session at pickup (valued at $300)
• 3-5 x private 1-on-1 sessions with you and your dog (valued at $1000 total)
• Professional training leash (valued at $40–$100)
• Remote training collar where appropriate (valued at $475)
• Lifetime access to our maintenance walks and ongoing support network

Assessment Process

Before we book any Board and Train program, we complete a structured assessment process at our HQ in Whenuapai. This allows us to fully understand your goals, evaluate your dog in person, and ensure we set clear, realistic expectations from the start.

Assessment fee: $250 (one-off)

Stage 1 – Online Questionnaire

A detailed written behavioural history and goals assessment.

Stage 2 – In-Person Assessment

A structured evaluation consisting of three parts:

• Human and dog sociability assessment
• Motivation and drive assessment
• Environmental stability and reactivity assessment

All assessments are recorded and reviewed again prior to your dog’s program to ensure nothing is missed and preparation is precise.

From this assessment, we are able to get a clear indication of the likely duration your dog will need in training. We will always recommend the minimum effective timeframe required to achieve long-term, sustainable results, ensuring your dog gets exactly what they need — no more, no less.

Pricing Structure

Our Board and Train programs use a tiered daily rate system, with pricing reducing as program duration increases:

• Weeks 1–2: $250 per day
• Weeks 3–4: $220 per day
• Weeks 5–6: $200 per day
• Weeks 7–8: $175 per day

Program Investment

Based on full 7-day training weeks:

• 4 Weeks: $6,580
• 5 Weeks: $7,980
• 6 Weeks: $9,380
